Road safety and charity to honor Fabio’s memory

The “Fabio Casartelli” Foundation is looking forward to July 15th, 2018 when Albese con Cassano will host athletes and families from Italy and elsewhere taking part to Mediofondo – that reserves for the competitive riders the Bellagio-Ghisallo and the Wall of Sormano uphill time trial – and the Randonnee to honor the Olympic champ died during the Tour de France 1995 because of a fatal crash.

One of the “Fabio Casartelli” Foundation’s main purposes have always been road safety and charity. The President since 2002 Pierluigi Marzorati and the Foundation’s members and friends have have donated a medical car to the First Aid, offered a contribution to implementation of a school with dorm in Kenya and organized school contests about the road safety, among the various initiatives.

“We’ve done plenty of things – explained Pierluigi Marzorati, Italian former professional basketball player – but we still have a lot to do to keep the memory of a valuable champion and person like Fabio Casartelli alive: taking his experiene as a basis, the friends of the Foundation deal with the prevention and the safety”.

Meanwhile the registrations are open. The Mediofondo’s registration fee is 35 € from June 1st to June 30th, 2018; 40 € from July 1st to July 14th, 2018; 50 € on July 15th, 2018 (click here). The Randonnee’s registration fee is 30 € from June 1st to June 30th, 2018; 40 € from July 1st to July 14th, 2018; 50 € on the day of the event (click here).
