LA FABIO CASARTELLI

A CELEBRATION FOR FABIO

NON-COMPETITIVE GRANFONDO WITH TIMED CLIMBS

RACE PHILOSOPHY

After 2 editions using the Randonnée formula, at the request of "loyal cyclists," the original “La Fabio Casartelli" returns, incorporating timed sections on the climbs of Ghisallo and Muro di Sormano: the start will always be in the French style to avoid traffic problems, and while the short route, also open to e-bikes, will tackle the Onno climb arriving in Albese after 58 km, the two routes, medium at 75 km and long at 105 km, will reach Bellagio and ascend the timed climb of Ghisallo. At the end of the Ghisallo climb, there will be refueling for everyone with the possibility of visiting the Ghisallo Cycling Museum at a reduced price.

From the top of Ghisallo, riders will get back on their bikes to reach Albese for the medium route, while for those with enough strength, upon reaching Asso, they turn right for the climb of Colma di Sormano, and for those who love to challenge themselves against the clock, the legendary Muro di Sormano is exclusively open. At the top of Colma di Sormano, there will also be refueling before descending towards Lake Como at Nesso, riding along the lake shore to Como, following the route of the Tour of Lombardy, and returning to Albese via Camnago Volta.

For clubs, there will be a team classification based on the kilometers covered by their athletes.

Athletes can expect prizes drawn among all participants/registrants using their bib numbers.

As previously mentioned, La Fabio Casartelli aims to be a celebration for Fabio with timing only on the indicated climbing sections, while the rest of the route is considered a transfer during which cyclists will be in free excursion mode and must strictly adhere to traffic rules.

HAVE FUN!
